Another case of the Democrat culture of corruption in the name of the children.

Former Florida congresswoman used charity money meant for poor students on lavish parties and trips

Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown has been found guilty of stealing funds from a charity intended to give scholarships to poor students. After being accused of using the charity she founded as a slush fund, the former Democratic congresswoman has been found guilty on 18 counts of federal fraud and corruption charges by a Florida jury.
Doc Thompson and Kal Elsebai talked about Brown’s example of political corruption on Friday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson.”
While politicians are often corrupt, the fact that Brown was stealing from poor students just makes it worse, Kal pointed out. “You’ve decided to become a corrupt politician. … Of all the things to do, you steal from a charity, from people who need this, who can’t afford things on their own, and these charities are made for these people? That’s where you steal from?” he asked.
Brown, who served in Congress for nearly 25 years, used Democratic talking points to bring in more money for her supposed charity work and then used the money on lavish parties and shopping. Federal prosecutors built a case alleging that she and her associates used One Door for Education Foundation, Brown’s personal charity, to collect more than $800,000 between 2012 and 2016.
“She pushed and played on people’s sympathies and used the charity,” Doc said. “And what was she doing with it? Throwing parties, going on trips and buying herself expensive stuff.”
