VIDEO FLASHBACKS: “We Got 100% Of The Chemical Weapons Out” Of Syria, And Russia “Helped To Make That Happen” But, McCain thinks it Trump's fault
The air strikes are taking place in Syria, in response to Bashar al-Assad using chemical weapons on his own people. Civilian men, women, and children. It is a heinous act. And one that shouldn’t have happened.
President Obama failed in Syria, and the ink is being spilled across the web pointing it out. His red line was crossed and action was not taken. But the administration said they’d done much better than enforce the red line. They had cut a deal.
Here’s a quick reminder of what John Kerry was saying about the deal, full of loopholes, that the Obama administration cut.
Those are from Meet the Press on July 21, 2014, and Charlie Rose in October the same year, respectively.
“We struck a deal where we got a hundred percent of the chemical weapons out,” he said on Meet the Press.Sarah Rumpf
“When we had to get chemical weapons out of Syria, Russia was the cooperating party that helped to make that happen, and without them, it probably wouldn’t have happened.”
We have news for you, John. It didn’t happen.
Syria began dragging their feet right away, which didn’t stop Chuck Hagel from telling Jake Tapper in May of 2014 that “we’ve been able to get more than 90%” of the chemical weapons out and were on the verge of wrapping up the rest. A lot of the administration bragged on this point, even though some of them acknowledged (read: admitted) later, when not stumping that there were big loopholes in the agreement.
Here is an even better clip — John Kerry from June 24, 2014.
“We got all of the chemical weapons out.” The best is how he’s being so smug about how much smarter they are than everyone else.
But it wasn’t all Hagel and Kerry. There was another guy bragging about it in 2014, and he was pretty snippy about it, too.
Go figure.
…
Alright, one more. Here’s Kerry bragging in December of 2014. He called their “accomplishment” in removing all chemical weapons from Syria “providential.”
