Aren't Democrats so enabling of violence against women: MO-Sen: McCaskill’s husband accused of hitting ex-wife in her breast, peeing on her, other abuses.

Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill’s husband, businessman Joseph Shepard, was reportedly accused of domestic abuse against his ex-wife multiple times — including hitting her in her cancer-stricken breast and peeing on her — Fox Newsreported.
Shepard married McCaskill in 2002.
Fox News revealed a protection order and police reports pointing to documented instances of Shepard allegedly abusing his ex-wife, Suzanne Shepard.
A 1993 police report details that Shepard’s daughter — who was 13 years old at the time — called the authorities to say that her mother had been assaulted. According to Fox News, the report listed Shepard as the only involved person, and no charges were filed.
Then again in 1998, officers were called to the Shepard home over an incident where Suzanne and Joseph became involved in a dispute when he came to the house to retrieve a carpet.
Suzanne Shepard filed an abuse petition for order of protection against Joseph Shepard following the episode, where she recalled, “Police called by friend in my home. Joseph entered my home. I told him to leave. He came up to me looking angry.”
“I put my hands up to protest my breasts as they are sore (cancer). He has hit me before in the breast. He grabbed my wrist and arm and pushed me up against the wall & I hit my head & back & he bruised my arms by pinching me,” she wrote.
“I am afraid of respondent and there is an immediate and present danger of abuse or stalking of me. He has tripped me, hit me before (police were called by my daughter), punched my cancer breast, peed on me, pushed me down and slapped me,” Shepard’s ex-wife continued.
“He now threatens that everything I have is his and I will end up in low income housing and he wants to take my things,” she added.
Sen. McCaskill has previously come under fire for her husband’s business dealings, over reports that companies linked to him have received $131 million in subsidies for building low income housing projects since she’s been in office.
The senator has also been an advocate for sexual assault and abuse victims, sponsoring legislation to overhaul policies regarding accusations within the military and pressing for victims’ rights on college campuses.
While McCaskill voted against the confirmation of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, she said she did not take the sexual misconduct claims against him into consideration, but rather made her decision based on his record.
The Democrat is running for a third term in the Senate, and is being challenged for her seat by Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley (R).
