Is Obama Getting Some of Bush's Bunker Mentality?

After having 5 press conferences in the first half of last year, on a pace to more than double W's pace in his fist year (he had four), Obama hasn't had a press conference since his disastrous comment regarding the arrest of Henry Louis Gates. Speeches and interviews sure (both of which are scripted), but no press conferences. That means that he doesn't have to answer any questions regarding the DOJ's defense of voter discrimination in the black panther case, why one of his czars helped teach teenagers how to "fist", his inept foreign policy and many more. With W, as the press turned against him more and more, he also pretty much went back into his shell and so all we were left with were the attacks, with no defense. The fact that Obama is already to the point of being afraid to take questions so early in his first administration seems to bode well for the GOP's chances.
