Are you as tired as I am of "unexpected" in economic headlines?

Unemployment claims rise unexpectedly

This happens so regularly now that the only thing not unexpected is the use of the word unexpected. Doesn't unexpected mean that the prognosticators were wrong? And, why would you continuously rely on these people in the first place when they're so consistently wrong? Could it be that the original estimate was made on a political basis and not on the facts?
The media and the government are lying to us so often about health care legislation, global warming and economics that it's simply not possible to take them at face value.
Remember lying and cheating is acceptable when it's for a noble cause.
