Amazon CEO reaching out to lawmakers for ‘legislative options’ against Trump’s immigration policy

According to The Hill, Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon.com and owner of the Washington Post, recently sent a company wide email out that denounced President Donald Trump’s decision on his executive order on the temporary ban on immigrants from Muslim majority nations, and saying that the company is going to approach policy makers to affect change.
“This executive order is one we do not support,” Bezos wrote, adding that Amazon was reaching out to lawmakers to pursue legislative options. “Our public policy team in D.C. has reached out to senior administration officials to make our opposition clear.”
Amazon vice president of human resources Beth Galetti also wrote an email to employees that read along a similar vein.
“As we’ve grown the company, we’ve worked hard to attract talented people from all over the world, and we believe this is one of the things that makes Amazon great — a diverse workforce helps us build better products for customers,” Galetti’s letter read.
Bezos was one of the many tech-company CEO’s that met with then President-elect Trump in order to discuss how the incoming administration could better work with the companies. Bezos in particular had a very negative opinion on Trump before the elections were over, stating that he was willing to shoot Trump into space on one of his Blue Origin rockets..
