An infectious murder cult.
For as long as he could remember Ibrahim Suleiman Adnan Adam Harun always wanted to be a jihadi.
The al Qaeda operative, on trial for killing two US servicemen in a 2003 terror blast, told authorities that he first became inspired to “join jihad” as a child and recounted how he carried out the sick attack, in recordings played during the second day of his Brooklyn terror trial.
Excerpts from the chilling three-day interview with authorities in Italy were played for federal court jurors Tuesday, translated into English.
“It started out long ago, all the way back to my elementary schools days when I began to understand things at the time of the Afghan war against the soviets,” Harun said in one Sept. 14, 2011 audio recording. “That’s when I first decided to join jihad.”
Harun’s alleged terrorist ambitions grew after a pal gave him military magazines around 2000.
“I took the magazine and went to my friend. I asked my friend where can we get, where can we steal an airplane and go hit the Pentagon with it?” he said.
Harun – who took on the name Spin Ghul, which means White Rose — wasn’t present in court and instead watched a video feed of the trial from his jail cell, as he had the day before.
Prosecutors said his mission was to slaughter Americans and that he’s behind a 2003 attack near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border that wounded five American soldiers and killed two, Jerod Dennis, 19, and Raymond Losano, 24.
In later recordings, he recounted the day he began attacking the Americans.
“At that time there was a grenade in my hand and I took that grenade and threw it at them,” Harun said. “I threw it directly at them and it blew up in between them. At that point, I am certain that both of them were injured.”
The accused terrorist also shot at troops.
“Because we were face to face and I had a direct shot, I opened my Kalashnikov [assault rifle] and started firing at them,” he said. “I shot and yelled, ‘God is great, god is great!’ I was worried they would have a grenade and throw it. I started throwing grenades one after another. They started returning fire.”
Harun was living in an al-Qaeda guest house in Afghanistan when 9/11 occurred and described the disturbing reaction he and others had to the news.
“We hear Allahu akbar, celebrating, we attacked America with airplanes,” he told authorities. “Our friends said they would record the video feeds and show us where we hit America.”
