We refuse to be party to their deviant, anti-American, and unconstitutional teachings and political activism
Private universities have no “right” to public funds
Over the last century, especially the last 60 years, government grants have supplied the lion’s share of curriculum expansion and research funding
They have been undermined and, frankly, overtaken, by the heavy-hand of progressive “educators,” taught to revere Marxist government while shunning classical disciplines.
The legacy of Harvard, Princeton, and Yale, established to train generations of preachers and teachers, has been replaced by secular studies that eschew these colleges’ Christian roots. Individual bequests and endowments that reflected the institutions’ policies were, at one time, the funding standard for construction, curriculum development, and research projects. Over the last century, especially the last 60 years, government grants have supplied the lion’s share of curriculum expansion and research funding.
Institutions, whether medical, cultural, or educational, that have become reliant on federal funding to cover multiple operations, have lost the basic understanding that all grants come with strings attached. And federal grants are (or used to be) the most stringent. The difference between then and now, is what kinds of fiduciary parameters are set for recipients.
Formerly working as a grant writer for educational programs, application was avoided to any government agency for a number of reasons:
- The high percentage of grant funds allocated to administration (33-35%);
- Limitations applied that blocked addressing real program needs;
- Requiring certain political/cultural content that deviated from relevant program goals (i.e. promoting climate change, diversity aka discrimination, acceptance and encouragement of socially aberrant behavior, etc.).
The result would have been that any program receiving government funding would be subject to the requirements set by the funding agency, in which case the purpose of the program could be subverted to suit the granting agency’s agenda.
