FAA Pinpoints Engine, Pylon Detachment For Deadly UPS Air Freighter Crash
BY TYLER DURDEN
Update (Sunday):
The Federal Aviation Administration temporarily grounded all McDonnell Douglas MD-11 air freighters this weekend after UPS flight 2976 crashed last Tuesday in Louisville, killing at least 14 people.
The emergency directive was issued after FAA investigators found the air freighter's left engine and pylon detached during takeoff.
