Bernie and Omar the bonding of two anti Semites in an authoritarian Islamic-socialist dream
Presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) began fundraising for Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Thursday in response to a Trump rally that broke out with the crowd chanting “send her back” directed at the Somali-born congresswoman.
"Can you split a $2.70 contribution between Ilhan Omar’s re-election campaign and our campaign for president?" Sanders’ 2020 campaign wrote in an email. "Send a message that we will fight back against Trump’s racism."
President Donald Trump prolonged an ongoing feud between himself and four progressive congresswomen, collectively known as the "Squad," during a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday. The Squad, consisting of Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), has been a recent target of the president for their socialist policies prescriptions and anti-America and anti-Israel rhetoric.
"So Representative Omar blamed the United States for the terrorist attacks on our country, saying that terrorism is a reaction to our involvement in other people’s affairs," Trump told the crowd during his rally. "She smeared U.S. service members involved in 'Black Hawk Down' — in other words, she slandered the brave Americans who were trying to keep peace in Somalia."
"Omar has a long history of launching vicious, anti-Semitic screeds," Trump continued as the crowd erupted in a "send her back" chant.
"I didn’t say that. They did," Trump replied as the chanting unfolded. He later condemned the chant, saying that he "was not happy with it" and that he "felt a little badly about it."
Sanders stated that he was dining with the Minnesota congresswoman when they were made aware of the incident, and Omar was "unfazed" by it.
"Sadly, as she told me, she has been dealing with this kind of hatred and racism for a long time," Sanders’ fundraising email continued. "She knows, as we do that Trump is a demagogue doing what he does best: dividing and conquering through hate."
Omar and Tlaib became America’s first Muslim congresswomen when sworn into office in January. Along with Ocasio-Cortez, the three progressive lawmakers have been embroiled in constant allegations of anti-Semitism and anti-America sentiments even prior to taking office.
Both Omar and Tlaib have fundraised with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a pro-Palestinian organization with ties to Islamic terror groups. The U.S. Department of Justice previously named CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator in funneling millions of dollars to Hamas.
While giving the keynote speech at a CAIR fundraising banquet, Omar dismissively described the September 11 terrorist attacks as an event where "some people did something." Despite receiving massive backlash, Omar stood by her remarks and refused to apologize.
Urging supporters to "ensure her voice is with us in Congress for a long time to come," Sanders requested donations to be made through the left-wing fundraising website ActBlue to "send a message that Trump’s racism will not stand."
The self-proclaimed democratic socialist has a proven capacity to generate enormous campaign donations from a large pool of small dollar donors. Sanders’ campaign reported a second quarter fundraising haul of $18 million, with the average donation size less than $20, according to CNN.Daily Wire TV
