An East Harlem bicyclist was fatally shot near his home early Wednesday, according to police.
Kenneth Brown, 35, was riding his bike on Pleasant Avenue near East 120th Street around 12:45 a.m. when a man came from across the street and started firing at him, cops said.
Brown, who lived in the area, was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.
No one was immediately arrested in connection with the slaying, cops said.
The incident comes amid a recent surge in shootings across the city.
Six shootings with seven victims were reported citywide on Tuesday, police said Wednesday morning.
There was one fatality, a 27-year-old man gunned down around 11:50 a.m. in Lincoln Terrace Park, at East New York Avenue and Buffalo Avenue in Crown Heights, cops said.
