There’s nothing a Democrat loves more than a career criminal.

The left has been pushing the same dangerous idea for years now. They believe criminals deserve more sympathy than the people they victimize.

You’ve seen it everywhere. Who can forget that insane Defund the Police movement, or the radical anti-ICE groups. And one of the worst pro-criminal programs is their bail “reform” laws that send violent offenders right back onto the streets just hours after they’re arrested. Left-wing prosecutors seem more interested in protecting criminals than protecting the communities they’re supposed to serve.

And law-abiding Americans are the ones paying the price for this warped ideology… sometimes with their lives.

Which is why, when the worst finally happens, and an innocent person is murdered after being repeatedly put in harm’s way by soft-on-crime policies, the people responsible never seem to face any real consequences.

But that could be changing. One Virginia family says the prosecutor who repeatedly let their daughter’s (illegal alien) killer walk free should finally be held accountable.

This latest case centers around Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, a Soros-backed prosecutor who’s a tried and true “criminals first” guy.

But it may finally come back to bite him, because the family of a murdered Virginia woman says his dangerous policies had deadly consequences.

WJLA:

A Virginia family wants accountability after Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano dropped several charges against an illegal immigrant before he went on to allegedly kill their daughter and sister, Stephanie Minter.

7News Reporter Nick Minock spoke with Stephanie Minter’s family in an exclusive interview.

Her family told 7News that if Descano had prosecuted her accused killer in other serious violent crimes, Stephanie Minter would be alive today. Right now, the Minter family is urging voters in Fairfax County to remember Stephanie Minter’s story and her murder the next time Descano is on the ballot, which is in 2027.

“Steve Descano completely failed Stephanie,” said Ashton Minter, Stephanie Minter’s brother. “He’s failed other people, and he will continue to fail other people unless he is just voted out of office.”

The family of Stephanie Minter is looking into how to hold Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano accountable after he repeatedly freed Abdul Jalloh, who is now accused of her stabbing death at a bus stop in Fairfax County.

The Minter family says this case is about accountability, and about whether prosecutors who repeatedly let dangerous people go free should ever be held responsible when those decisions end in tragedy.

And this Soros-backed prosecutor is a good “test case.”

Because many would argue that Steve Descano is the absolute worst prosecutor in America.

Here are just a few of his lowest moments, showing just how soft on crime he truly is.

AEI:

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Virginia — Murderers, rapists, perverts, and pimps. These are the folks served by Fairfax County prosecutor Steve Descano.

The George Soros-funded Commonwealth’s attorney for this suburban county of 1 million has openly stated he won’t enforce the law when it clashes with his ideology. The results have been ugly:

Richard Cox was already a serial sex offender when he exposed himself in a women’s locker room in Fairfax, but Descano let him go — and he proceeded to expose himself in a high-school girl’s locker room.

Abdul Jalloh was arrested more than 30 times, including for malicious wounding, but was repeatedly set free. He is now accused of stabbing Stephanie Minter to death on February 23.

Gret Glyer was executed in his bed, in a calculated assassination. Descano last month let the killer go with an insanity plea.

And a Chinese pimp ran a brothel in a residential neighborhood, across the street from a school bus stop. While police did everything they could to shut it down, Descano’s office dropped the prostitution charges and let the place continue operating until the Republican attorney general got it shuttered.

These are just a few of the stories that illustrate Descano’s extreme toleration of criminals and harm to his constituents.

Every time you turn around, Steve is going soft on yet another violent criminal.

Virginians 4 Safe Communities:

DESCANO DOES IT AGAIN: Fairfax’s infamous Soros DA is poised to drop MURDER CHARGES against violent repeat offender and convicted child sex predator who murdered a homeless man at a bus stop last June.

Repeat felon Robert Andrew Reed (DOB 10/29/1968) stabbed Marvin Waters at the Huntington metro station bus stop on June 10, 2025—less than a year after his release from federal prison for child sex abuse and kidnapping.

Descano’s office is planning to DROP THE MURDER CHARGES because they “can’t prove it.”

A knife covered in the victim’s blood, video of the murderer carrying the murder weapon dripping with blood, a blood soaked jacket, and a history of extreme violence isn’t enough proof. This is a slam dunk case.

Worse, Descano is getting beat by a jailhouse lawyer since Reed is representing himself “pro se” and has a history of filing frivolous and rambling lawsuits.

Previously, Reed was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Maryland for a 1993 rape.

While in Maryland prison, Reed violently assaulted a prison guard. Upon release, Reed repeatedly engaged in child molestation and kidnapping, then threatened to kill witnesses.

He was released in June 2024 after doing 14 years in federal prison (FYSA: DC criminals go to the federal penitentiary) and just a year later he viciously stabbed Marvin Waters in broad daylight. The metro police (WMATA) tracked him down using video surveillance and found him with a blood spattered coat. Upon searching his storage locker, they found a folding knife, drugs, and paraphernalia consistent with dealing drugs.

Last month while in Fairfax County jail awaiting trial for this murder, Reed violently beat up another inmate and faces “unlawful wounding” charges.

And THAT is who Steve Descano is letting walk free.

And for the record, he Steve did officially drop the 2nd degree murder charge.

Three years ago, a mother sued Decano after her 11 year old son was raped by a repeat offender who was allowed back on the streets.

The list goes on. So many people have issues with this soft-on-crime Soros prosecutor, yet somehow he keeps getting reelected.

The frustrating part is that holding prosecutors accountable isn’t easy. The law gives them very broad immunity for the decisions they make on the job, like whether to charge someone or let them go. So even when those choices end in tragedy, it’s incredibly hard to hold them personally responsible in court.

Families can try to sue, but those cases rarely go very far because the system protects prosecutors from most legal consequences.

Which means, in reality, the biggest tool voters have is the ballot box.
