Bernie Sanders loves to cite socialist Sweden, but their former prime minister just smacked him down. Too funny!

He didn't seem to notice the jab

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) loves to cite Sweden as an example of the socialism he advocates for, but he likely didn't appreciate the slap down he received from former Swedish prime minister over his love of communist Russia.
Carl Bildt tweeted a scathing sarcastic remark with a video of the Socialist Democrat from
"Bernie Sanders was lucky to be able to get to the Soviet Union in 1988 and praise all its stunning socialist achievements before the entire system and empire collapsed under the weight of its own spectacular failures," Bildt tweeted.
In the video, Sanders praises the Soviet communist system after a visit in 1988.
"I think it's also fair to point out that when we were in Moscow for example," he said in the video, "I think most of the people here also were extremely impressed by their public transportation system, the stations themselves were absolutely beautiful, including many works of art, chandeliers that were very very beautiful. It was a very very effective system.

"Also I was impressed by the youth programs that they have, their palaces of culture for the young people," he continued. "A whole variety of programs for the young people, and cultural programs which go far beyond what we do in this country.
"We went to a theater in Yaroslavl which was absolutely beautiful," he added, "had three separate stages where cultural programs by professional actors and actresses, including a puppeteer area. And the cost, the highest price of a ticket that you can get was the equivalent of a dollar fifty."
Sweden has often been cited by Sanders as an exemplar of the kind of government he wants to build in the United States, but experts have pointed out that the comparison fails on several points.
Carl Bildt was the prime minister of Sweden from 1991 to 1994.

Here's a moment from 2016 where Sanders praised Sweden:
