“LIE OF THE CENTURY”

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has a passion for history. He reviewed a lot of it in his United Nations General Assembly speech yesterday. The transcript is posted here on X. I have posted the video of his remarks below. For some reason or other, delegates from some 70 countries walked out on Netanyahu. Netanyahu referred to them as “moral cowards,” which seems diplomatic. I might have substituted “cretins” for cowards.

Netanyahu recalled his brother Jonathan, of blessed memory. He quoted Jonathan: “We’re going to win. We have no other choice.” It was a motif of his speech.

He reviewed the events of October 7 and the Orwellian inversion wrought by the Muslim Brotherhood and its friends all around the world: 

Accusing Israel of genocide is the greatest lie of the century.

If you want to know how big a lie, if you want to know how absurd this is, listen to Colonel John Spencer. 

He’s head of Urban Warfare studies at West Point. He’s considered the world’s foremost expert on urban warfare.

I think he’s with us today.

Colonel Spencer has studied every urban war from antiquity to modern times, from ancient Greece to Mosul to Gaza.

Here is what Colonel Spencer says: “Israel has done more to prevent civilian casualties in war than any other military in history.” 

We’ve taken innumerable steps to protect the civilian population. Is this genocide? Of course not. It’s the opposite of genocide.

So to all those spreading these lies about my country and about our brave soldiers, whether they sit in this hall or in the office of the antisemitic mayor of New York City, I say this:

Shame on you.

Shame on you for distorting the facts.

Shame on you for inverting victim and aggressor.

Shame on you for spitting in the face of truth. 

He addressed New York’s smiling Mayor Madman on this point: 

And here’s the simple truth. Israel didn’t commit genocide. Israel prevented genocide.

And that’s exactly what Mr. Mamdani’s Hamas buddies would have done to us had we not stopped them. They would have killed every last one of us.
