Cambodians beaten, raped and killed at illegal detention camp funded by UN

'Undesirables' are swept from the streets before being detained without trial, say human rights groups

When I read this article...

I thought these people just don't get it. The judicial system thinks we're playing some sort of touch football and once your out you go sit down and behave like a spectator. These Islamists truly, really truly want to kill as many of us as they can. You can argue about why but it would be the same result as if you asked Charles Manson. The answer doesn't matter the desire to kill is real and evident. That he was in a plot to blow up LAX should tell you everything you need to know about him. That he cooperated is all very nice so give him an extra dessert every night but for heavens sake don't think he's become a pacifist.

U.S. Judge’s Ruling May Return a Convicted Terrorist to Prison

A judge in Manhattan has ruled that a convicted terrorist who was given a chance to rebuild his life after cooperating with the government violated the terms of his release by possessing a handgun and trying to buy an AK-47 assault rifle.

The terrorist, Abdelghani Meskini, could be ordered back to prison by the judge, John F. Keenan of Federal District Court, who originally gave Mr. Meskini a short sentence for his role in the failed “millennium plot” to blow up Los Angeles International Airport.

As part of his cooperation, Mr. Meskini testified against two other men who were convicted in the plot, and he pleaded guilty to conspiring to support terrorism and other charges. After he was released in 2005, he moved to Georgia and changed his name, paid thousands of dollars in restitution and took a job managing apartments that were infested with drug dealers and prostitutes.

One tenant, Crystal Amy Roughton, an admitted crack user and prostitute, became a close friend; she testified this month that Mr. Meskini had lent her money, taught her how to check clients’ backgrounds, and helped her prepare advertisements for an escort Web site.

But she said that she had also seen him with a gun, and that he asked her last year to help him obtain an AK-47.

Judge Keenan has scheduled a hearing on Friday at which sentencing issues are expected to be addressed. In his ruling, released on Thursday, the judge found Mr. Meskini had not violated other conditions, like associating with felons and frequenting drug establishments.

“Incredibly,” Judge Keenan wrote, “the United States Probation Department approved Meskini’s employment” as manager of the crime-ridden complex, in which he had been required to enter apartments to collect rent and make repairs.

“The Probation Department cannot now maintain that Meskini violated the conditions of his supervised release by performing work-related tasks,” the judge said.

In court recently, Mr. Meskini’s lawyer, Mark S. DeMarco, attacked the government’s evidence and the credibility of its witnesses, calling Ms. Roughton a liar.

But a prosecutor, Michael Rosensaft, said Mr. Meskini had gotten “a huge break on his sentence” and “threw it all away.”

The race card, how novel

Sheila Jackson Lee wants DOJ to monitor tea partiers at polls

Hey Sheila, how about the SEIU, the New Black Panther Party, Move On, the Ruckus Society, and the folks who planted the American flag on Mars.

Let's not forget the wonderful government employees who are trying and in some cases successfully disenfranchising our troops abroad or are tampering with the voting machines so that Democrat candidates come up no matter who you vote for.

It is time we start fighting back against the pure evil of black racism against whites. Why, because people like Sheila and the Rev. Wright feel entitled to their bigotry. The old shibboleth that the blacks are powerless so they can't be bigoted is insane. How much more power do you need then to be a Congressperson or the man that officiated at the wedding of the current President.

Are the Democrats showing their true color bias? Why not ask Crist to drop out?

Bill Clinton pushed Kendrick Meek to quit Florida race

This is not the first time the Democrats have thrown a black man overboard. Remember Carl McCall the NY State Controller who announced his run for Governor and was promptly snubbed by the Democrat Party in favor of a white man.

The Democrat Party cares only about its power everything else is disposable.

Bayefsky: U.S. is More Hostile to Israel than it Appears

Cheshvan 18, 5771, 26 October 10 03:20
by Elad Benari

(Israelnationalnews.com) According to political writer Anne Bayefsky, the Obama administration’s treatment of Israel is not as hostile as it appears, but is, in fact, worse.

In an article which appeared last week on the Unity Coalition for Israel’s website, Bayefsky wrote that the U.S. State Department has adopted a practice of saying different things to different audiences. She brought as an example claims by the U.S. that recent speeches delivered the U.N. Human Rights Council were in Israel’s defense, when in fact the remarks American diplomats actually delivered were “strikingly different.”

While U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva, Eileen Donahoe, said during the Council’s last session in October that the Human Rights Council had “made historic progress…in advancing the rights of human rights defenders throughout the world,” Bayefsky said that Donahoe’s claim “turns on the virtue of legitimizing the demonization of Israel in favor of other people’s human rights.”

Bayefsky explains that during the latest session, the Human Rights Council had before it a report produced by a committee chaired by German lawyer Christian Tomuschat, a former legal adviser to former PA President Yasser Arafat. In the spirit of last year’s Goldstone Report on Operation Cast Lead in Gaza, the Tomuschat Report repeats the claim that Israel engaged in “violence against civilians as part of a deliberate policy” and criticizes Israel’s legal system for failing to mount a witch hunt for “officials at the highest levels.” The report also refers to Hamas’ internal investigation of the events during Operation Cast Lead, which exonerates itself from any wrongdoings, and finally concludes that it “is not in a position to ascertain the veracity of any of these assertions.”

According to Bayefsky, when the Human Rights Council took up this report, Ambassador Donahoe told the Human Rights Council: “We appreciate that the Tomuschat Committee did not jump to conclusions…” and also praised the committee on the grounds that it “did not recommend any further UN action,” despite the fact that the report was written so that it would guarantee the committee’s reappointment, which did indeed occur.

Furthermore, says Bayefsky, Ambassador Donahoe dropped from her speech the words “Because Israel has the right and the demonstrated ability to conduct credible investigations and serious self-scrutiny, further follow-up of the Goldstone Report by UN bodies is unnecessary and unwarranted,” a version which appears on the State Department website.

Bayefsky adds that this was not a one-time occurrence. A second anti-Israel report, commissioned in June after the flotilla incident, was written following a Human Rights Council investigation created within 48 hours of the incident and carried out by a three-person group that included lawyer Desmond de Silva, who headed a British law office with a Palestinian legal advisor, and hosted the team which is supporting a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state. De Silva was has told the Human Rights Council that “[E]ven if Bin Laden himself was on board the Mavi Marmara, it wouldn’t have made the blockade legal.”

De Silva and his group said they couldn’t trust Israeli video evidence of the incident, and described the IHH activists on the Marmara as “persons genuinely committed to the spirit of humanitarianism.” They produced what Bayefsky calls “the usual U.N. laundry list of wild accusations and demands, such as prosecuting Israelis for torture.”

In this case as well, the State Department gave the U.N. a speech by Ambassador Donahoe to post on its website which includes an important defense of Israel, which once again was omitted from her actual delivery. On September 29, several days after Donahoe addressed the Council, it voted to approve both reports.

Bayefesky notes that even though at the conclusion of this session, the Human Rights Council maintained its record of having adopted more resolutions and decisions condemning Israel than all other 191 U.N. states combined, the Obama administration still described it as an “historic” session advancing human rights.

“This administration’s message is that demonizing Israelis is a price worth paying for the sake of other people’s human rights,” concludes Bayfesky. “’Several developments’ for anybody else trump several losses for the Jewish state. Legitimizing the Human Rights Council with American membership and financial support is justified regardless of the threat that it poses to the safety and security of the Jewish people. The Obama administration ought to know better. Equality and human dignity cannot be built on the inequality of the few.”

The Final Recourse of Democrats

Vote Fraud. Those decades of Tammany Hall style machine politics always come back to Democrats in trouble.

The reports are rolling in from all over the country. A Craven County, NC resident attempts to vote a straight Republican ticket but his choices come up straight Democrat four times, despite receiving assistance from poll workers. In NC's Lenoir County, registered Democrat Ervin Norville also tries to vote straight Republican but finds that his ballot has the names of several Democrat candidates selected. Boulder City, NV resident Joyce Ferrara says that when she and several others went to vote for Sharon Angle, they found that Senator Harry Reid's name was already checked off. In Dallas County, TX' congressional district 30, Democrat Eddie Bernice Johnson's name was the only one on the ballot in a few locations (no, she isn't running unopposed). And some states have been late in mailing out military absentee ballots, whose recipients, interestingly, are known for their Republican leanings.

These happenings are generally referred to as "mistakes" and "glitches," but if that's all they are, then we're witnessing a truly historic anomaly. Because either the mainstream media is now suppressing stories of mistakes and glitches benefitting Republicans, or the laws of probability have suddenly been rescinded and tossed coins are coming up donkey tails every time. Welcome to American elections, Venezuelan style.

I have long said that this election would see vote fraud of unprecedented magnitude. And it does seem that a perfect storm of such criminality is brewing. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals just struck down an Arizona law requiring proof of citizenship to vote, a treasonous act that facilitates vote fraud. Of course, some liberals are more forthcoming about their intentions; in Portland, ME and New York City, there is a push to allow non-citizens to vote. Not to be outdone, San Francisco seeks to allow even illegal aliens to cast ballots in school elections. Hey, why not? They're not illegals - they're undocumented Democrats.

Then there is the matter of the fox guarding the polling house. It has now been learned that the technicians who work on the Nevada voting machines that have been checking off Harry Reid's name are members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), a leftist organization that has given tens of millions of dollars to Democrats. (By the way, do you remember all the complaints about "antiquated" paper ballots after the 2000 election? I knew that all the talk about "hanging chads" and the need for modern technology would lead to vote fraud. After all, now elections can be swayed by a well-placed, skilled hacker and there's no paper trail.)

Add to this the fact that the left is more brazen than ever. For one thing, laymen liberals, like their judges, are very influenced by precedent. And the liberal delusion that George W. Bush stole the 2000 election - thus drawing first blood - gives leftists a handy rationalization for actually stealing elections. Second, Barack Obama's DOJ's refusal to prosecute the Philadelphia Black Panthers - despite videotape evidence of their voter intimidation - sends the message that the left has almost carte blanche to sway elections by any means necessary.

Most of all, though, we have to remember that leftists are, well, leftists. They are simply much more corrupt than those on the right. I know, this sounds like blind partisanship, so I'll explain.

Boxer faces ethics complaint for telling teachers to send students to work for campaign

In an Oct. 27 letter to California education authorities, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA), a non-profit group urging lower taxes, said, “In abject ignorance of California state law, the political campaign of Senator Barbara Boxer has openly solicited teachers employed by [Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)] to urge their students to volunteer for her campaign.”

The HJTA letter refers to a letter obtained by the Flash Report, an influential California political blog, from the Boxer campaign that urges teachers to recruit their students to work for Boxer’s campaign.

“As you may know, Senator Boxer is facing her toughest race yet,” the letter from Boxer says, “please let us know if your students are able to help.”

Boxer’s campaign was unable to immediately comment on either its letter nor the HJTA’s letter.

HJTA’s letter cites a portion of California law governing teachers’ conduct which makes it illegal for teachers to solicit political support of students, including donations and volunteer work.

As President Obama found out when he was forced to tone down what critics decried as the partisan content of a lesson plan he gave teachers to accompany a speech he was giving to students nationwide, the political input provided to schoolchildren remains a bitterly charged subject, as many parents desire to provide children their own take on often polarized issues.

The Teachers Union is so in the tank for the Democrats that she wouldn't even think this was against the law. Bless the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.

Liberal Gene (not McCarthy)

Researchers find a 'liberal gene'
October 27, 2010
Liberals may owe their political outlook partly to their genetic make-up, according to new research from the University of California, San Diego, and Harvard University. Ideology is affected not just by social factors, but also by a dopamine receptor gene called DRD4. The study's authors say this is the first research to identify a specific gene that predisposes people to certain political views.

We are in a war against the criminal entitlement crowd

ACORN’s Project Vote is still in operation and one of its main directors is a woman under a cloud of criminal charges in the state of Nevada

ACORN’s Get-Out-The-Vote Operative Under State Felony Charges

By Warner Todd Huston Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Contrary to popular perception, the criminal group ACORN (Association for Community Organizations for Reform Now) is not quite a’moulderin’ in the grave, folks. Many might recall that Congress turned off the spigot of federal funds flowing into the coffers of the organization responsible for federal election law crimes all across the country. Many might all recall that ACORN itself eventually said it would shutter its operations.

But even with all that recent history, ACORN’s Project Vote is still in operation and one of its main directors is a woman under a cloud of criminal charges in the state of Nevada.

Project Vote is supposed to be separate from ACORN, at least on paper. But as Matthew Vadum writes, “Although legally separate entities, in practice the two are the same, as the congressional testimony of former ACORN/Project Vote employee Anita MonCrief can attest. They share office space, employees, and budgets. Project Vote continues to operate out of ACORN’s Washington, D.C., headquarters.”

Vadum also reports that the ramrod that heads up Project Vote is one Amy Busefink. Busefink is an ACORN employee under indictment for violating election laws in Nevada.

In May 2009, Nevada Atty. Gen. Catherine Cortez Masto, and Secretary of State Ross Miller, both Democrats, made public charges against two senior ACORN employees—Busefink, ACORN’s deputy regional director at the time, and Christopher Edwards, then ACORN’s Las Vegas field director. Both were implicated in a conspiracy in which they and ACORN as a corporate entity were charged. Edwards pleaded guilty and has turned state’s evidence. The trial of ACORN and Busefink is scheduled to begin on November 26.

The state’s charges list 26 felony counts of voter fraud and 13 of providing unlawful extra compensation to those registering voters, a practice forbidden under Nevada law because it incentivizes fraud. Canvassers were allegedly paid between $8 and $9 an hour and based on a quota of 20 voters per shift.

Yet this woman still has a high profile and important position running an ACORN adjunct voter registration project. Why has ACORN allowed this woman to maintain such a powerful job in its organization?

Vadum also warns that ACORN itself is simply “lying low” and biding its time until it comes back full force. And we can’t forget that ACORN’s buddies in Congress are salivating at the idea of reinstating federal funding for this left-wing criminal organization.

In fact, ACORN funding has not been permanently cutoff as it is. Sure federal funding has been cutoff but only temporarily. It can be reinstated at any time. The defunding ACORN must be re-upped as it were or the temporary ban runs out and funds can again begin flowing into ACORN’s pockets.

Opponents of ACORN must keep vigilant lest Congress quietly slip a renewal of ACORN’s federal funding into a bill here or there as a rider, an earmark, or add-on
